To make a call in Gmail
To make a call in Gmail, you can follow these steps:
Open the Gmail app on your mobile device.
Tap the Chat button at the bottom of the screen.
Open a chat message with the person you want to call.
Tap the Phone icon at the top of the screen.
If the person you're calling is in your contacts list, you can also tap their contact photo and then tap the Phone icon.
If the person you're calling doesn't have a Google account, they'll receive a call from a random phone number.
To end the call, tap the End call button.
Note: You can only make calls from the Gmail mobile app, not from the Gmail website.

You can make calls to mobile phones, landlines, and VoIP numbers.
Calls to US and Canadian numbers are free. Calls to international numbers may be subject to charges.
You can use your Google Voice number to make calls from Gmail. To do this, go to the Settings menu in the Gmail app and tap Google Voice. Then, tap Use Google Voice number for calls and select your Google Voice number.
Troubleshooting tips
If you can't make calls from Gmail, make sure that you have the latest version of the Gmail app installed.
Also, make sure that you have given Gmail permission to access your microphone. To do this, go to the Settings menu on your device and tap Apps & notifications. Then, tap Gmail and tap Permissions. Make sure that the Microphone permission is turned on.
If you're still having trouble, try restarting your device.
