Here are the steps on how to temporarily disable your Instagram account:
From the Instagram app:
Open the Instagram app.
Tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner.
Tap on the three dots in the top right corner.
Tap on Settings.
Tap on Account.
Tap on Delete account.
Tap on Temporarily deactivate my account.
Read the warning and tap on Temporarily deactivate again.
From a web browser:
Go to www.instagram.com.
Sign in to your account.
Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.
Click on Edit Profile.
Scroll down and click on Temporarily deactivate my account.
Read the warning and click on Temporarily deactivate again.
Once your account is deactivated:
Your profile, photos, comments, and likes will be hidden from other users.
You will no longer be able to log in to your account.
You can reactivate your account at any time by logging back in.
You can only deactivate your account once a week. If you try to deactivate your account again before a week has passed, you will see a message saying that you need to wait.
Your account can remain deactivated indefinitely. There is no limit on how long you can keep your account deactivated. If you decide you want to delete your
account permanently, you can do so at any time by following the steps above and tapping on Delete my account instead of Temporarily deactivate my account.
